Vice Principal, September 2021 or January 2022 start

The salary will reflect the seniority of the role and the experience of the successful appointee.

This is an outstanding opportunity for anyone who aspires to Headship. The breadth of the Vice Principal role at CATS Cambridge will allow you to gain the kind of experiences and develop the wider school leadership and business skills that will make you a very attractive candidate for Headships in the future.

As Vice Principal, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the school, and you will be actively involved in its marketing and strategic development. Ours is a diverse, colourful, energising and often genuinely fun setting. You will need to meet the challenges posed by a student constituency that is drawn from over 60 nationalities, but with those challenges comes the opportunity for immense job satisfaction.

We are an independent school for students aged 14+ from across the world. We offer A-level, GCSE and Foundation programmes to day and boarding students. The Vice Principal works with the Principal, covering all matters relating to the academic and pastoral management and leadership of the School. CATS Cambridge is a member of the Independent Schools’ Association (ISA) and inspected by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate (ISI).

To succeed in this role, it is likely that you already have significant experience of senior roles within a school setting, most probably with cross functional responsibility. You will be able to evidence substantial contributions to the effective leadership and development of a school. The successful candidate will certainly have business acumen, as importantly, though, you will be a dedicated educator who is eager to work with an internationally diverse faculty and student body.

We are part of the CATS Colleges group, and we benefit from being part of a forward-looking organisation with a strong educational vision which includes three other similar schools, all focussed on international students.  If you are interested in taking on a major role in the leadership and development of CATS Cambridge and you feel that you have the attributes and skills we are looking for, we would love to hear from you.

If you are considering an application but would like to discuss the role informally before doing so, the Principal, Dominic Tomalin would be very happy to meet with you. To book a meeting with Dominic, please write to:

CATS Cambridge is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS checked. We are an equal opportunities employer.

The closing date is Friday 23rd April 2021
